Hilarious But True: London Have A Real Batman

A masked vigilante known as the ‘Bromley Batman’ has said that he would prefer to be known as ‘The Shadow’, after he started making waves for fighting back against crime in a London borough.

The mysterious man, who has not been identified, first made headlines when he intervened to stop a city worker from being mugged in south London.
But after his story came to light, other individuals came forward to say that they had been saved by a bearded vigilante with a bandana covering his face.
The have-a-go superhero has now spoken out anonymously, saying he patrols the mean streets every night, holds down a day job, and is aged ‘younger than 50 and older than 25’.
He even proved his identity after his descriptions of altercations matched those of the people who he had ‘rescued’.
Speaking to the Evening Standard, he explained that he began his exploits three years ago and he hated the ‘Bromley Batman’ moniker.

‘I just want to make a difference and leave this world a tiny bit better for the younger generation to inherit’, he wrote in an anonymous email.
‘I got sick of seeing crime on the news and in the papers with rarely anyone willing to step in and help people in need
